Get your vehicle's Safety Certificate

A safety certificate (also known as a Safety Standards Certificate) is required when selling or transferring ownership of a used vehicle.

It confirms that the vehicle meets the minimum safety standards set by the Ministry of Transportation and is safe to drive on the road.

Our licensed technicians perform a thorough vehicle inspection covering key components like brakes, tires, lights, suspension, steering, exhaust, windshield, and seatbelts. If any issues are found, we’ll provide a detailed report and offer repair services to bring the vehicle up to safety standards.

Whether you're buying, selling, or registering a vehicle, our Safety Certificate service ensures compliance with legal requirements and gives peace of mind that the car is safe to drive.

We provide fast, reliable inspections and same-day issuance of the Safety Certificate, depending on your vehicle’s condition.

The inspection covers key systems, including:

  • Horn, seatbelts, and mirrors

In Ontario, a Safety Certificate is valid for 36 days from the date of issue.

Only a licensed Motor Vehicle Inspection Station (MVIS) can perform the inspection and issue a Safety Certificate.
